Come join the fun on Sunday, January 22d, at Ice House Resort in Pollock Pines, Ca. You don’t have to cook chili to have a good time. You don’t even have to eat chili to have a good time!
The folks at Ice House Resort are kind enough to open their facility for our event each year. Get there early and have a wonderful home-style breakfast. The bar will be open for everybody to quench their thirst, get to know fellow 4wheelers, and /or watch the race on TV.
New This Year! Your hosts, the Capital City Moutain Goat 4Wheel Drive Club are trying to keep this a free event. To that end, we will have a “Photo booth” setup for you and your family and friends to enjoy. For a $1 donation to the Chili cook-off, we will take one photo to be uploaded to our website for your enjoyment. We will set it up so you can download your photos, in case you want to print them. You can tag them on your facebook account, or share them with friends directly from our website via email.
If you want to compete, be sure to bring plenty of chili. If yours is good (or even “interesting”) everybody will want some. But, don’t forget to save some for the judges. The judges will collect your “anonymous” sample in several small, numbered cups. The tasters will not know whose chili they’re tasting. Please note that this is a FUN competition. Judges are not paid or otherwise compensated. Judges are typically selected/volunteered the morning of the event.
Bring your cameras … bring your kids … get to know other chili-enthusiasts and four wheelers from all over Northern California! You can bring your own ice chest, or you can re-fill at the bar. There will be plenty of tailgating fun, and a little friendly competition!
CCMG is also trying to put together an off-road adventure immediately following the cook-off. If you bring your rig and you’ve got the extra time, the area surrounding Ice House Resort is beautiful. The run will be mild to intermediate, and may (cross your fingers) have a bit of snowy fun!
Please join us at this family friendly annual event. Whether you cook or not, eat chili or not, we would love to have you join our family for some good fun, good people and good times!
