The weather was against us, but we had a good time anyway!
The snow line was so low this year that we couldn’t run the usual course. The toughest challenge was the water crossing. We were back in camp in record time this year.
Despite the short run, everybody seemed to have a terrific time. Dinner was great! How many times do you get a Steak and Lobster dinner (or teryaki chicken and lobster) out in the woods?

Last Thursday and Friday (Jun 9 & 10, 2011) CCMG conducted a Safety Clinic for personnel from the Contra Costa Water District. Over two days we had 34 people driving 15 vehicles, learning to operate them safely under a variety of off-road conditions.
The participants’ day starts off with a brief classroom session. In the classroom we go over some of the basic concept, like keeping holding the steering wheel safely, managing tire pressure, etc.![]()
After that, we provide a short demonstration on safe winching techniques. We demonstrated several types of winches, as well as addressing all the major DOs and DON’Ts of safe winching

The April Safety Clinic is this weekend (Apr 16th).
